Methodological Framework for Digital and Intergeracional-based Game for Environmental Education and Awareness

WP2 involved developing a methodological framework that guided the entire project, combining intergenerational learning with serious digital games. Children and older adults were actively involved in national co-creation activities and a transnational event, ensuring their voices shaped the approach. The result was a conceptual basis that laid the foundation for the GaGEN game and all following activities.

Digital and Intergenerational-based Game for Environmental Education and Awareness

WP3 focused on designing and building the GaGEN game itself, transforming the framework into an interactive tool for environmental education. A draft version was tested and validated with experienced gamers, allowing the team to refine its features and content. The final outcome is a digital serious game ready for implementation in intergenerational contexts.

Training Pack for Facilitators of the Game

In WP4, the partnership created a training pack that equips facilitators with the knowledge and skills to guide intergenerational sessions using the game. The training combined theoretical insights with practical exercises to build confidence and prepare for real-life challenges. As a result, training resources were developed to ensure that educators, practitioners, and community workers can deliver the GaGEN game effectively.

Intergenerational Learning Approach to Environmental Education & Exploitation

WP5 encompasses the pilots with older adults and children in intergenerational learning sessions across the partner countries. Alongside the pilot, exploitation activities such as webinars and the Final Conference in Germany helped share results widely and prepare for the project’s sustainability and future impact.
